Frequently Asked Questions

What is an introductory flight?

An introductory flight is a tandem paramotor experience designed to introduce you to paramotoring. During your introductory flight, you'll learn about paramotoring basics, safety procedures, and flight operations while experiencing the thrill of powered flight. All flights are conducted as introductory tandem experiences in accordance with FAA regulations.

What's the difference between Quick Experience and Extended Learning flights?

Quick Experience Flights (15-20 minutes, $225-$250) are perfect for those who want a taste of paramotoring. Quick briefing, short flight, and you're done. Great for couples or groups - if multiple people want to fly separately, we can accommodate that in the same time slot (for example, perfect for date nights where one person flies, we land, then the other person goes up). Extended Learning Flights ($450-$600) take up an entire time slot (morning or evening window). You arrive early for comprehensive briefing, flight planning, weather discussion, and detailed instruction. Since these flights take the entire time slot, the pilot focuses solely on you for comprehensive instruction, rather than being able to accommodate multiple customers in that time period. Perfect for those seriously interested in learning about paramotoring.

Why do Extended Learning flights cost more?

Extended Learning flights take up an entire time slot (the entire morning or evening flight window). During that time, we could conduct multiple Quick Experience flights for different customers. The higher price reflects that you're getting the entire time slot with comprehensive instruction, flight planning, weather analysis, and focused one-on-one attention, rather than the pilot being able to book multiple separate customers during that time period.

What are the flight time windows?

Flights are conducted during specific time windows due to weather and safety conditions. Evening flights: 1-2 hours prior to sunset through 30 minutes past sunset. Morning flights: 30 minutes before sunrise to 1-3 hours after sunrise. Exact times depend on sunrise/sunset times for your specific date and location. Extended Learning flights require arriving 1-2 hours before the flight window for briefing.

How high will we fly during the introductory flight?

During your introductory flight, you'll experience various altitudes from just above the ground during takeoff and landing to several thousand feet in the air, depending on weather conditions and the flight plan. The views are absolutely breathtaking!

How fast do we go during the introductory flight?

Paramotors move at a comfortable speed of approximately 25-30 MPH during your introductory flight, giving you plenty of time to see your surroundings, take photos, and learn about paramotoring while enjoying the experience.

What should I wear for my introductory flight?

We recommend checking the weather forecast before your introductory flight. Dress for the temperature and expect it to be cooler at altitude. Please wear closed-toe footwear. Sunglasses are recommended to protect your eyes from wind. Dresses and loose clothing are not recommended for safety reasons.

Can I bring my own GoPro or action camera on my introductory flight?

Yes! You're welcome to bring your own camera equipment on your introductory flight. We can help you secure it safely to your helmet or harness. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring camera equipment.

Can couples or groups fly together?

Yes! Quick Experience flights are perfect for couples or groups. While only one person flies at a time (each paramotor accommodates one passenger with the pilot), we can accommodate multiple separate flights in the same time slot. For example, perfect for date nights - one person flies for 20 minutes, we land, then the other person goes up for 20 minutes. This allows both people to experience flight while sharing the adventure together!

What are multi-day introductory experiences?

For destination locations like Moab, Utah; Swing Arm City, Utah; and Goblin Valley State Park, Utah, we offer weekend multi-day introductory experiences. These include multiple introductory flights, ground instruction, safety briefings, and optional kiting basics overview. These are comprehensive introductory experiences for those interested in learning more about paramotoring, not full training courses.

What is the kiting basics overview?

During multi-day introductory experiences, we can provide an overview of kiting equipment and basics for those interested in learning more about paramotoring. This includes hands-on experience with kiting equipment and an introduction to wing handling. This is an overview experience, not full training.

What happens if weather is bad for my introductory flight?

Safety is our top priority. If weather conditions are not suitable for your introductory flight, we'll reschedule your booking at no additional charge. We'll contact you as early as possible if we need to reschedule.

What are your pilot credentials?

All our pilots are ASC certified and carry the required FAA exemptions for tandem flight operations. Our pilots have extensive experience flying at multiple locations and ensure you have a safe and educational introductory flight experience.
